Drop in any deck exported from Anki. Templates, audio, images, and styling render as they do in the app. The file is parsed in your browser and never leaves your device.
Cram mode
Review-only mode shuffles every card you have seen and loops through them endlessly, without inflating your real review intervals.
Progress you own
Study state lives in your browser. Export it as a JSON file any time and import it on another device.
Keyboard-first
Space flips the card, 1/2/3 grades it, Ctrl+Z undoes. A session takes minutes, not clicks.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Anki free?
- Yes. Anki on desktop (Windows, Mac, Linux) and AnkiDroid on Android are free and open source. AnkiMobile for iPhone costs $25, and that purchase funds the project. This page is a separate free tool: it runs Anki decks in your browser, so you can study on any device without installing anything.
- Do I need an account?
- No. There is no sign-up and no login. Your study progress is saved in your browser's local storage, and you can export it as a file to move it to another device.
- Is my deck uploaded anywhere?
- No. When you import an .apkg file it is unpacked entirely inside your browser and stored in your browser's own database (IndexedDB). Nothing is sent to a server.
- Which decks work?
- Any regular .apkg deck: fields, card templates, audio, images, and conditional sections all render. Cloze deletion decks are not supported yet. If Anki exported your deck in the newest format, re-export it with “Support older Anki versions” checked.
- Is the scheduling real spaced repetition?
- Yes. Cards are scheduled with the same SM-2 approach Anki uses: learning steps (1 and 10 minutes), a per-card ease factor, relearning after lapses, and a daily new-card limit you can set yourself. There is also a review-only mode that cycles through every card you have seen without touching the schedule.
- Is this the official Anki?
- No. Anki is a trademark of Ankitects Pty Ltd, and the official app lives at apps.ankiweb.net. This is an independent free web tool for studying Anki-format decks in the browser. For long-term study across devices with syncing, the official app is the better home.
